Busy as a Bee

I've been so busy lately I haven't even had time to blog!! Hope everyone's summer is going well. So what have I been up to lately you ask, well here goes....

I'm still working in HPER and as a consultant, but I picked up a few other jobs along the way. For about 3 weeks I pet sat for a professor's dog and several cats (I can still name all 7 of them too). It was actually fun, they have an awesome hi-def tv so I was sad to leave that behind. The dog was super cool and I loved taking her for walks everyday. Even so, I was still glad when the "reign of fur" was over and I got to sleep in my own bed. It's funny how after awhile you begin to miss your own bed.

As soon as that ended, I got to spend a week showing 13 high school kids how to make webpages. Boy was I tired by the end of that week, I have no idea how the 24hour counselors did it. I could not spend every waking moment with those kids, I have to have some downtime. The kids ended up being pretty cool and they had a really good time. I think the best was when we went up to IUPUI and saw their Informatics building. It's really nice and has some cool stuff in it. Their cave is alot better then the one down here, but I guess that's why ours is getting renovated.

That was last week, this week I'm back to my old jobs. Except on Wed's I have to spend a few hours w/ middle schoolers for a different kind of camp. They are learning about visual tricks and optical illusions. They seem to really like it. Last week the boys were horrible but this week they were much more calm and quiet. I'm dreading how next week's boys are going to be. Jacki and I will also be on our own next week because Dennis is going out of town. She did a practice run yesterday and I think she did a really good job. She has some much patience w/ the kids and a lot more tolerance then I do!

Besides work, I've also been helping out some friends w/ their websites. It seems to be going well and it's nice to do something nice, especially when it's easy for you but really hard for them. I'm also learning how to play the guitar. It's slow going and hard at times, but I'll get the hang of it eventually. The best part is that it only costs me two Budweiser's a week. Other than that I read constantly, even so I still have a ton of Stephen King books left to read. Sometimes I regret buying so many at once! :)
